A Start...

A Start...

Naturally, I am starting to question if I am off to a great start after realising my first blog post titled 'A Start...' has sat incomplete for four months.
But hey, better late than never! Thats what I am going to tell myself anyway.

Over the past six months I have started a business, one that I have been thinking about and talking about starting for a few years.
I'm not sure if it was bordem, the realisation that I am a talker, not a doer, or the ongoing encouragement from my pals that caused it, but one fantastic morning an idea poped into my head for a business name and the branding followed naturally.
After a week or so of patting myself on the back for such a great idea I engaged my lovely friend and illustrator, Lisa to turn my ideas into a real life brand, then a further few months down the track alittlecoy was officially born and I had the push I needed to go forth and create.

My business is simply selling my crafty hobby, mostly handmade jewellery & accessories.
I have been selling my creations at markets throughout Melbourne and online (Well, trying to sell online) and have met so many fantastic people along the way also trying to get their wares out there. The realisation has now hit, this an industry I really want to get involved in.

I have always been passionate about supporting handmade products, small business' and locally produced goods so I was consious of these fators when creating my own products.

And so, I am going to write about my experiences starting a business, however hobbyish it may be and the things that I find along the way, along with some bits and pieces about thinks that I like and the people I discover and admire.
